Welcome to Ile d’Oleron
at Camping Club La Brande

Camping La Brande and its covered and heated swimming pool are open from april 8th to October the 1st 2023.
Our 5-star campsite is located on the Ile d’ Oléron, 2.5km from the village of Château d’ Oléron and 300m from a small high tide beach.
We will be happy to welcome you on our 5.5 hectare landscaped park with 199 pitches. The campsite offers the rental of cottages, mobil homes, tents or camping pitches.

Our environmental commitment has been rewarded by the European Ecolabel since 2007.

Our commitment to Quality has enabled us to be selected by the Tourism Quality Charter.

Our commitment to accessibility has enabled us to obtain the Tourism and Disability label thanks to adapted facilities in the sanitary blocks as well as in 4 accessible cottages that have been completely renovated this year.

    Birds are kings on the island of Oleron. a large nature reserve protects them between Le Chateau d' Oleron and Boyardville. a resting and wintering area for thousands of shorebirds, including garzette egrets, geese, swans, curlew or plovers, are the most numerous. come with a telephoto lens or binoculars to observe them from the coast just in front of the campsite.

    The real land of oysters

    It is in the Marennes Oleron area, between the island and the mainland, that oysters, bred by oyster farmers, are the best. Thanks to the traditions of maturing in the "Claires" (old salt marshes) they develop this little nutty taste that makes their reputation. Along the "route des huitres", many small harbours follow one another around the La Brande campsite. Smart: take part in the bike ride accompanied by Alain (english spoken) to Xavier's oyster farm.

    At the northern tip of the island of oleron, the lighthouse of Chassiron dominates the waves and cliffs around. you can follow the coastal path and see at low tide the fish locks (old fisheries but still active), visit the gardens, the exhibition in the room at the bottom of the stairs that will allow you to reach at the top of the stairs a breathtaking view of the island and up to La Rochelle and the island of Ré. a superb walk at 25km from the campsite.
